Fortnite 'low-res textures on skins or outfits' issue on PS4 acknowledged (potential workaround)

Fortnite recently received Season 2 v.24 update which introduces bug fixes to known issues and some UI changes.

It also adds a new AI Navigation Modification device which can be used to prevent the AI from traversing a certain area.

The patch also addressed the problems where the ‘Allow Slide Kick’ option was missing and one was not able to set Max Players above 50 on upgraded islands.

However, some are unhappy as they are facing some issues after the recent update.

Some Fortnite players (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) complain that low resolution textures are displayed on skins or outfits after the recent update.

Allegedly, changing the graphics settings has no effect on the visual aspects of the skins or outfits. The issue affects PlayStation 4 consoles.

A player complains that they are experiencing graphical and performance-related issues after installing the latest update. They also say that their gameplay suffers due to horrendous lag and random crashes.

Another gamer alleges that the clothing textures now appear more blurry than usual.

The Fortnite support team has officially acknowledged the issue and stated that the bug fix will be released in an upcoming update. Although no official ETA for the same has been mentioned.

Fortunately, we did come across a potential workaround that may help solve your problem. It is recommended that you adjust the frame limit to a lower value.

You can do so by following the steps mentioned below.

1. Click on the main menu in the top-right corner.
2. Select settings.
3. Choose the video settings option.
4. Change your Frame Rate Limit to a lower value (i.e. Unlimited to 60fps)
5. Apply the new settings.
6. Start a new game in Fortnite.
