[Update: Shutting down?] DatPiff iOS app not working & Android app taken down: Here's what we know

Launched in 2005, DatPiff was initially used for sharing and downloading hip-hop mixtapes, and now, it also lets you discover, stream, and download the same.
Additionally, the platform also provides video content, artist interviews, news, and reviews about the hip-hop and music industries.
DatPiff iOS app not working
However, a number of DatPiff users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) are agitated to find that the iOS app is not working properly for them anymore. Moreover, the app hasn’t been updated for quite some time.

The platform frequently crashes or freezes while attempting to view the content. Additionally, the developers also appear to be no longer there.
Even when someone clicks on the link provided on the platform’s Twitter bio, a notification stating ‘this domain isn’t connected to the website’ pops up. It’s possible that the other domains aren’t renewed either.
To make things worse, the app has already been taken down from the Google Play Store.
The issue is incredibly frustrating as it is also preventing users from listening to their favorite mixtapes or artists for that matter.

We can’t claim anything with certainty yet but it’s quite possible that the company is currently grappling with a financial crisis. Resultantly, the developers have simply dropped the app without any notice.
We hope the team takes responsibility for the problem and issues a formal statement addressing the broken DatPiff iOS app.

Update 1 (March 14, 2023)
10:06 am (IST): There have been rumors that DatPiff is shutting down (1, 2, 3) and many users have taken to Twitter to show their grief.
However, DatPiff has come out to confirm that these rumors are baseless and the service isn’t shutting down.
Furthermore, they said that they are currently having technical issues with their site and app, but they are still active on YouTube. However, they didn’t provide any ETA as to when these problems will be fixed.
Despite the rumors, we are happy to report that we will still be supplying you with all the mixtapes you love. We’re working through technical issues on our site and app, but still actively update our youtube! Thanks for all the love and concerns but we promise, we are still here (Source)
