YouTube app reportedly keeps pausing video when trying to type a comment for some users
YouTube has been a game-changer in the way we consume video content. The platform hosts a diverse range of content, from music videos and movie trailers to cooking tutorials and educational lectures.
As a result, the YouTube app has become a vital part of our everyday lives, allowing us to access a broad array of videos either on the go or from the comfort of our sofa.
But, there appears to be a problem that is interfering with the viewing experience.
YouTube app keeps pausing video
Viewers started noticing that when they went to the comment section under a video that was playing and began writing a comment, the video stopped. It resumed once they exited the comment tab.
This is an odd behavior because the app allows users to comment while the video is playing in the background.
The above problem appears to affect numerous platforms since reports have come in from both TV and smartphone (iOS and Android) users.
Several individuals claim that this issue started following the most recent update and older versions of the application appear to function normally.
I noticed after the new update that YouTube is pausing videos when typing a comment. Anyone else experience this? I could have sworn it wasn’t always like this.
@youtube @TeamYouTube why does my YouTube app playing through chromecast now pause whenever I type a comment?
While the developers are unaware of this issue, YouTube support did offer potential workarounds (signing out and then back in, updating the app or your device’s OS) but, these don’t seem to resolve this problem.
Thus, it appears that individuals impacted will have to wait until YouTube comes up with a fix for the problem.
We’ll keep tabs on the issue where the YouTube app keeps pausing video while commenting and update the article as and when something noteworthy comes up.
