Wyze is an American company focused on the smart camera segment. The company is characterized by offering attractive products at affordable prices.

Wyze cameras allow users to easily set up a smart security system in their homes and at a modest expense.

The company also offers a dedicated app through which users can manage all their Wyze cameras connected to the same network.

However, currently the Wyze platform is down or not working and this is affecting the operation of many company products.

Wyze down and not working, users unable to login

According to reports, the crash on Wyze servers prevents users from logging into the device management app.

Issues logging into the app? 5/3/2022

Seems as though the auth servers may be down again… i can’t login to the app. funny enough, it happened just after installing my first light switch… anyone else having trouble logging in?

edit: 11:15EST – was able to login. devices are showing up and working but some still say offline

However, it seems that currently some cameras within the home security system of some users remain active.

The DownDetector platform also reflects the crash in the Wyze services.

Issue acknowledged

The Wyze team is already aware of the issue and is working on resolving it.

We’re aware of and investigating reports of issues logging in and utilizing third party services such as Alexa. Stand by for updates.

We are experiencing a cloud outage that is impacting parts of our service such as logging in, using cloud-stored settings such as turning on or off devices, refreshing the device list, or using integrated services such as Alexa, Google Assistant, or IFTTT.

The company points out that, at the time of writing this story, some users are already recovering the normal operation of their devices.

5/3/22 8:47 PM PT – We are seeing recovery from the AWS side and are continuing to watch our metrics. Reports of full recovery for customers are coming in. We’ll keep you posted about changes.

However, not all users have the same luck yet. Some still can’t access the app and their cameras remain offline.

Update 1 (March 9, 2023)

11:51 am (IST): Proliferating reports on Downdetector (1, 2, 3) suggest that Wyze is currently down or not working for a section of users.

05:50 pm (IST): The recent outage has now been fixed.
