Apple Music is enjoyed by millions of people across the world. One can dance to their favorite tracks all day because of its lossless HD playing functionality and a range of music libraries.
However, some are unhappy due to an issue with the app on Mac.
Apple Music library not syncing on Mac and shows a ‘4007 error’
The affected users say that they are getting ‘Genius results can’t be updated right now. An unknown error occurred (4007)’ error message every time they try to access their library.
This issue further hinders user use of the application as their recent song additions to the local library are not syncing. Thus the new songs won’t show up on any of their other devices.
Some have tried troubleshooting methods like logging in/out of their Apple Music accounts, deauthorizing, and toggling the ‘Sync Library’ option on/off but to no avail.
I was trying to add some songs via local files on my macbook (2012 mbp running 10.15.7), but I kept getting error 4007 (genius results can’t be updated right now)
Cloud Music Library won’t sync, Apple Music broke on MBP M1 Max, Getting unknown error (4007) “genius results can’t be updated right now”
A user has said that they had a conversation with an Apple support agent and that this issue has been allegedly escalated for further investigation:
I escalated this via web Support Chat and after being disconnected no less than three times eventually got escalated to a senior engineer. They described it and I quote as “a nightmare problem” which I don’t think is on the official script, but were unable to do anything. They claimed it was probably a local software problem and all they could do is escalate it still further, to the deep-dive engineering team.
That being said, we will keep tabs on the problem where Apple Music library is not syncing on Mac and instead shows ‘4007 error’ message and update this story as new information becomes available.
