Twitter is one of the most popular social media platforms and is used by millions of people to communicate on a daily basis. Like any other social media platform, Twitter also suffers from occasional bugs and issues.

For instance, we recently covered an issue where Twitter analytics were not functioning properly. And recently, some users have been facing issues while posting a tweet or trying to reply to a user’s post on the platform.

Twitter ‘tweet not sent’ error troubles some users

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple users are experiencing problems while trying to post on Twitter.

They reportedly see a ‘tweet not sent’ error message while trying to do so. Some also face difficulties while sharing pictures and videos on the platform.

Also, it seems like users can’t ‘tweet’ in one go, as they have to click on the ‘retry’ option every time they want to express themselves.

I’ve gotten “tweet not sent” message several times today and have even been unable, a time or two, to retrieve tweets. I don’t believe I’m being censored or muted, just a fluke or periodic glitches that have rectified themselves.

Have you seen how well Twitter is running now? So many people saying they’re getting “tweet not sent” messages. Bots & trolls showing up in our timelines. People we follow suddenly disappearing or being unfollowed not by our choice.

Some users say the problem has persisted over the past couple of days. Since it affects different platforms, the issue seems to be more on the server side than that of an application update.

Due to this issue, a section of users is unable to communicate with their peers and feel left out. This glitch has ruined the user experience and has also affected the productivity of some.

Reportedly, a user on Twitter also experienced an issue where some of their followed profiles would automatically disappear or unfollow.

No official response

Unfortunately, Twitter has not yet acknowledged the issue. Also, there seems to be no potential workaround as of now. So, it looks like users will have to wait for a while until the developers fix the issues with the platform.

That said, we’ll keep an eye on the issue where some Twitter users are facing the ‘tweet not sent’ error while trying to tweet and update this article as and when something noteworthy comes up.

08:35 am (IST): Some users are again reporting the ‘Tweet not sent’ error message when trying to post a tweet (1, 2, 3)

Update 2 (February 06, 2023)

02:28 pm (IST): Elon Musk has confirmed that the ‘This tweet is unavailable’ error has been fixed by the team.

We think we fixed this bug today. Please lmk if you’re still seeing it.

Update 3 (February 9, 2023)

10:06 am (IST): Twitter was facing an outage earlier today and users reported (1, 2, 3, 4) that they were getting ‘tweet not sent’ error.

Luckily, Twitter support acknowledged this problem and said that they are working to resolve it.

Twitter may not be working as expected for some of you. Sorry for the trouble. We’re aware and working to get this fixed. (Source)

10:53 am (IST): Some Tweetdeck users are also reporting the issue where tweets are not being sent.

01:45 pm (IST): Twitter has introduced some limits for users in order to alleviate down time and error pages.
