Overwatch 2 Season 3 'Starter Pack' price bump to $10 gets criticized by some
Here’s the crux of the article in video form
Overwatch 2 recently received an update that introduces Season 3 of the game. In addition to this, it brings fixes for known bugs and some balance changes.
You can now even customize your heroes with new skins and cosmetics from the Battle Pass. The patch also adds a new control map, the Antarctic Peninsula.
But the price of the ‘Starter Pack’ has doubled with the recently introduced update. Such a move by the developers is now being criticized by some.
Overwatch 2 Season 3 ‘Starter Pack’ price bump
Season 2’s ‘Starter Pack’ included 500 Overwatch coins as well as the Epic Disco Lucio skin. Players can use these coins to buy in-game cosmetic items that allow them to customize the heroes.
But with Season 3, the price for the same has been raised to $10. It is worth mentioning that the latest pack includes the Battle Pass, a new Honey Bee Mercy Epic skin, and 1000 Overwatch Coins.
A player on Twitter complains that they have already purchased the Battle Pass but would have to pay for it again due to the new package bundle. They also allege that it’s just a money-making move by the game developers.
Another gamer has also expressed their disappointment on the matter. They say that they were planning to purchase the new Starter pack with their saved coins, but with the price increase, they will be unable to do so.
I like how you’ve added enough credits for the battle pass to pay for itself twice. I like how you’ve reduced the prices in the store. What I don’t like is how you’ve tied an exclusive Sigma skin behind a $30 bundle and how you’ve increased the starter pack price.
Why is it $10? Isn’t supposed to be $5?
They are happy because before the update, they had to pay $10 just for the Battle Pass. Now, in the same price range, they get more coins, an additional 500 coins, and a brand-new skin.
All youre paying for is 1000 points and you get the skin and charm for free. I see nothing but a steal of a deal here.
What’s the problem? Now you just use the coins you get from the starter pack to buy the BP. You get the BP & a skin, and you spent $10 instead of $15
That said, we will keep tabs on the issue where some are unhappy with the price increase of the Overwatch 2 Starter Pack and update this story as we come across new information.
