HomeKit is Apple’s software framework for smart home appliances that provides a secure and easy-to-use platform for managing and automating compatible devices, with features such as voice control with Siri and more.

HomeKit also integrates with other Apple services such as Apple TV, which acts as a hub for remote access and automation.

However, after the latest 16.3 update, some users are facing issues with their HomeKit devices.

HomeKit devices ‘No response’ error

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7), Apple’s HomeKit platform recently received an architectural change through the 16.2 and 16.3 updates.

This has caused some issues for Apple HomeKit users, including a ‘No response’ error with their smart devices.

16.3 upgrade and no response
I upgraded my devices to 16.3. I have almost 20 devices in apple home. Since the upgrade, the majority of the devices saw no response. I reset my Apple TV and it resolved the issue temporarily, but I woke up this morning and the majority of my devices say no response. Any suggestions?

Homekit camera becomes non-responsive when trying to view live from one particular iPhone
I recently got a Eufy Indoor Cam 2K and have set it up with Homekit and it works great when monitoring from multiple MacBooks, Apple TVs and iPhones, except for my personal iPhone X (iOS 16.2).

I can view recordings, but as soon as I try to watch the live footage stream I get a loading spinner for about a minute and then it ultimately shows a message saying “No Response, this camera is not responding”

This issue, where devices stop responding after regular intervals of time, seems to have started after the 16.2 update and continues with 16.3.

Although rebooting or resetting the home may temporarily fix the problem for some, it eventually reoccurs.

01:08 pm (IST): A Redditor managed to fix the issue where HomeKit devices (Home Hub in this case) are not responding by replacing the home router.

For anyone having home hub not responding issues, after narrowing down the culprit, I replaced my router and everything is working as it should.

I reset the router and set it up again but still the same issues, poked around with different settings, and still the same issues. I then replaced the router with the Eero 6+ after reading favorable reviews from HomeKit users and the home hub errors went away.
