Dead Space is a well-known name in the science fiction genre. Gamers were very excited to hear the news about the release of its next sequel after a gap of 10 years.

However, some are unhappy because of some issues that have popped up in the recently released game.

Dead Space remake ‘death loop’ bug

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), some players complain of getting stuck in a death loop after dying for the first time during the gameplay.

It is also alleged that the game gets auto-saved at the point where they die, and that particular death cutscene keeps on reloading whenever they restart the game.

Also, they are unable to interrupt the sequence, due to which, any of the old saved game files cannot be loaded manually.

This makes it impossible for one to progress in the game’s campaign and play the remaining exciting missions.

@deadspace PS5, two hours in. Died for the first time, game started loading in a loop where I died. Couldn’t load any previous save. Had to delete the entire file and start from the beginning.

It is also alleged that one needs to reset all of the game’s data as there is no option to delete a particular save-game file on the console, forcing one to completely re-play it.

Players are frustrated and annoyed due to this glitch.

Potential workaround

Fortunately, we did come across a potential workaround that may help solve the problem for some PlayStation 5 players. A Redditor advises that gamers save their save-game files in the PlayStation Cloud.

In addition to this, the original version of Dead Space must be reinstalled without the ‘day one’ patch. This will allow them to pause the game in a death cutscene, after which they can load any of the previously saved files.

Alternatively, console players can try to interrupt the death cutscene by disabling the attached controller from the console settings.

We do hope that Motive Studio fixes the bug soon so that players can enjoy the gameplay as it was intended.

That said, we’ll keep an eye on the issue where some Dead Space players get stuck in a ‘death loop’ and update this article as and when something noteworthy comes up.
