Here’s the crux of the article in video form

World War Z (also known as ‘WWZ’) arrived in 2019 as an interesting third-person cooperative game whose goal is to survive a zombie apocalypse with your team.

In 2021, World War Z: Aftermath arrived as the ‘definitive edition’ of the game. This one included all the ‘Game of the Year Edition’ content, as well as other additions that expanded the experience.

Until a few hours ago, the game was only available on PC and previous gen consoles. But now, it received a ‘next-gen update’ destined for PS5 and Xbox (Series S and X).

However, multiple reports indicate that the World War Z: Aftermath next-gen update for PS5 exhibits poor performance issues, as well as missing trophies (and other items) when transferring save files.

World War Z: Aftermath next-gen update poor performance on PS5

Surely, next-gen console players expected this update to offer better overall performance. Sadly, it seems that is not the case, at least in the PS5 version.

According to PS5 owners, World War Z: Aftermath next-gen update performance is inconsistent. Players describe situations as constant lag or occasional crashes.

Even normal maps I see a lot of lags on PS5, problems with zombies that do not move, lost connection every few games etc. so something is wrong and it’s not only affecting the horde xxl

Ps5 version crashed as soon as it loaded my first match

you guys had so long to do this update. 🤦🏽‍♂️😂 Edit: I managed to play a match but the next one crashed

Also, for some unknown reason, now the game is capped at 30fps, when the PS4 version runs at a solid 60fps.

Native PS5 version is 30 fps

How can I change it to 60? I thought it was supposed to run at 4K @ 60 fps. Even the older PS4 version used to run at 60 fps on PS5.

Missing trophies, skins and other things after transferring save file to PS5

It seems that players are experiencing issues after transferring their save-files to PS5 as well.

Apparently, once you transfer your data to World War Z: Aftermath next-gen update (PS5), there are missing trophies, skins, and some other elements. There are even reported cases of accounts being completely reset.

Save transfer problems on PS5 WWZ

When updating PS4 to PS5 version of WWZ and then doing the save transfer, I lost just about all of my Trophy Progression in the game. Did this happen to anyone else?!?

That said, there are some tips that could help you avoid losing trophies, skins, or progress when transferring your save file to PS5:
