New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on January 25, 2023) follows:

World War Z: Aftermath is a DLC patch of the game World War Z. It is a cooperative zombie shooter game developed by Saber Interactive, set in the universe of the World War Z novel and film.

Players work together to complete objectives and survive waves of zombies while also competing against each other to gain the most prestige points.

The game features a variety of character classes and weapons for players to choose from. As for locations, players get to experience Rome, Vatican City and Russia’s Kamchatka peninsula.

World War Z: Aftermath PS4 to PS5 upgrade currently not free

World War Z players are reporting (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) issues with the free upgrade from the PS4 to the PS5 version of the game’s Aftermath DLC.

According to player reports, the upgrade button to the PS5 version is not appearing on the store for those who have purchased the DLC on PS4.

I just paid $39.99 with taxes for a PS5 version of Aftermath which I already paid for, for a PS4 version of Aftermath. What’s going on here???

This is Bullshit…. I already bought the aftermath 1 year ago because it said Ps5 version available. One year after do I need to pay again or what ?

Multiple players have taken to social media to express their frustration with the issue. Some have posted on Twitter, using hashtags like #wwzthegame and #aftermath to share their concerns and seek help.

It appears that the patch has also affected some players who use Xbox. They reported that they are locked out despite purchasing the DLC.

Official acknowledgment

Fortunately, the official World War Z Twitter account has acknowledged the issue and stated that they are working on a fix.

We’re aware there’s an issue where the World War Z: Aftermath’s upgrade option from PS4 to PS5 is currently not free. We’re working to fix this. Stay tuned.

Players who purchased the DLC for the PS4 version were supposed to receive a free upgrade to the PS5 version, but clearly this is not the case.

The exact cause of the issue is not clear at this time, but it seems to be affecting a significant number of players. We hope that Saber Interactive fixes the issue as soon as possible.

Until then, keep tabs on the story and we will post it with further developments.

Update 1 (January 26, 2023)

09:50 am (IST): While Saber support confirmed a few hours ago that this issue has been resolved, players continue to report (1, 2, 3) that the upgrade still does not appear for free.
