Twitter is used by millions of people worldwide to express their views and opinions on a variety of topics. Also, certain changes are made to the platform time and again, which helps it better cater to the needs of the audience.
This time, Twitter has made some UI/UX changes allowing users to bookmark any tweet posted on the site with just a single click of a button.
Earlier, one had to first tap the share icon and then select the ‘Add Tweet to Bookmarks’ option to do so.
The recently introduced changes make it easier for one to add a post to their ‘bookmarks’ list. Even though Elon Musk claims it’s a major platform improvement, some users are not happy with the recent changes.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9), a section of users does not like the recently introduced change that now allows one to bookmark with a single click or tap on the screen.
They say that the new UI is cluttered with too many icons and buttons in a single bar, which ends up confusing them.
Since the bookmark button is now located where the like button previously was, some users mistakenly bookmark a tweet instead of liking it.

The problem I’m also having now is that I keep hitting the ‘bookmark’ button when I really want to hit the like button smh

This has made some question the need for such a change.
It should also be noted that these changes have been rolled out recently only on Twitter’s iOS app. Android and website users are still on the old layout.
Although it is quite interesting to note that a section of users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) are praising the platform for the change.
Some find this feature very useful and don’t have any complaints about the same. Another user even claims this to be one of the best updates ever released on the Twitter platform.

Elon Musk is also planning on embedding an indicator that will show how many people have bookmarked a tweet.
He also said that a bookmark will be treated as a ‘quiet like’ and will increment the ‘likes counter’ as well in the future.
