Twitter 'bookmark button' in tweet details page gets criticized by a section of users
Twitter is used by millions of people worldwide to express their views and opinions on a variety of topics. Also, certain changes are made to the platform time and again, which helps it better cater to the needs of the audience.
This time, Twitter has made some UI/UX changes allowing users to bookmark any tweet posted on the site with just a single click of a button.
Earlier, one had to first tap the share icon and then select the ‘Add Tweet to Bookmarks’ option to do so.
The recently introduced changes make it easier for one to add a post to their ‘bookmarks’ list. Even though Elon Musk claims it’s a major platform improvement, some users are not happy with the recent changes.
Twitter ‘bookmark button’ in tweet details page gets criticized by a section of users
They say that the new UI is cluttered with too many icons and buttons in a single bar, which ends up confusing them.
Since the bookmark button is now located where the like button previously was, some users mistakenly bookmark a tweet instead of liking it.
The problem I’m also having now is that I keep hitting the ‘bookmark’ button when I really want to hit the like button smh
It pisses me off so bad because I keep clicking it when I want to like something
This has made some question the need for such a change.
It should also be noted that these changes have been rolled out recently only on Twitter’s iOS app. Android and website users are still on the old layout.
Some find this feature very useful and don’t have any complaints about the same. Another user even claims this to be one of the best updates ever released on the Twitter platform.
We have a separate bookmark button now that was TOTALLY worth it 😭😭😭
Okay Twitter did do something I like..I like the bookmark button bein right there now.
Elon Musk is also planning on embedding an indicator that will show how many people have bookmarked a tweet.
He also said that a bookmark will be treated as a ‘quiet like’ and will increment the ‘likes counter’ as well in the future.
That said, we will update this article as and when something noteworthy comes up.
