New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on October 11, 2022) follows:

The edit button on Twitter was one of the most requested features. And it’s now available for Twitter Blue subscribers in the United States.

Twitter Blue subscribers can find it in the app’s Labs section and will cost them $4.99 per month. However, some tweets, such as replies, retweets, and polls, cannot be edited.

Well, now it is coming to light that there might be an issue with this feature. Twitter Blue users have been reporting on social media platforms that they are unable to edit tweets (1,2,3,4,5,6,7).

When Twitter Blue users go to a tweet and click on the edit button, a pop-up window displays ‘Get early access to Edit’ tweets with Twitter Blue’. This message should only appear if you are not a Twitter Blue subscriber.

It looks like Twitter isn’t recognizing their Blue subscription for some reason and thus preventing them from editing their tweets.

Twitter Blue users are irritated by the problem because the feature has been quite useful to them even during its initial limited usage.

Hey @TwitterSupport — I am a long paying Twitter Blue customer, but your Edit Tweet function just points me to sign up for Twitter Blue without understanding this account already pays for it.

Hey @TwitterSupport. I have Twitter Blue and had access to the edit feature earlier today. Subscription hasn’t changed and shows active but now when I try and use edit I’m taken to a page to learn about Twitter Blue and shows my subscription as active.
