The Motorola One 5G Ace is a mid-range device powered by Qualcomm’s SM7225 Snapdragon 750G 5G featuring 48MP triple rear cameras, a large IPS LCD screen, and much more.

The smartphone received an update in the month of December last year, which optimized the device’s performance, resolved some known issues, and patched some security vulnerabilities.

However, like any popular mobile device, Motorola’s One Ace 5G also has its fair share of bugs and issues.

Moto One Ace 5G hardware-related voice call echo issue

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6), multiple users have been facing issues while making calls on their Moto One Ace 5G smartphone.

Some users have complained that they hear echoes when conversing with another person over phone calls, which makes it difficult to interpret or understand what the other person is saying.

Some people also claimed that the issue only occurred when they used the phone’s built-in speaker to answer a call. They did not face any issues when on speaker mode or using a Bluetooth headset.

The issue was officially acknowledged more than a year ago by Motorola and the affected users were advised to get their defective smartphones replaced.

However, recent reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) suggest that similar problems are being faced by Moto One Ace 5G smartphone owners till now.

It is worth noting that the issue occurs on both outgoing and incoming phone calls, and may end up hampering one’s work or day-to-day activities.

When I make phone calls, people can only hear every other word. It goes in and out for them. The One 5G Ace I have is running on Android 11. I already trying clearing the cache of the phone and it restart. No effect. I tested the mic by recording a video and the audio quality was fine.

Some have even tried resetting their devices’ network access, removing and reinstalling apps, and resetting call permissions, but nothing seems to help.

Moto One Ace 5G owners are quite annoyed because of this problem. However, the problems don’t end here as even more Motorola users are seemingly facing similar issues as well.

Voice call echoes on other Motorola phones

It is also worth noting that other Motorola smartphone owners (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) are experiencing similar audio distortion issues during voice calls on other models.

A Moto Edge 30 owner even claims that they’ve experienced such issues on a device that is less than a week old, which is quite strange.

It would be interesting to find out whether the recent voice call echo issues are hardware-related like in the case of the Moto One 5G Ace or whether some application or Android OS update is the culprit.

That said, we will keep an eye on the various Motorola smartphones experiencing echo problems during voice calls and update this story as new information becomes available.
