The famous first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is once again the talk of the town. The players have been disappointed by the developers as they have not added any new and exciting content to it for quite some time.

Some feel like the lack of such updates or revisions to a game makes it unappealing for them to continue playing the game.

Even though Season 2 update is rumored to arrive within a few days, it would be interesting to see if the developers are able to live up to the demands and expectations of the gamers or not.

Some have taken to social media (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) to express their views regarding the same. They feel that the game lacks new and challenging maps and events that would make it more fun for some to battle their opponents.

They also complain that the in-game store lacks useful weapons and items that could help one compete better while playing.

Gamers are also disappointed with the removal of some of their favorite maps and items from the game with some of the recent updates.

For instance, the removal of the ‘Plunder’ mode from MW 2 and the lack of any new events made the gameplay boring for a player.

We need more maps like ASAP.. and some weapon balancing. It’s been a month as of today since they made any gameplay changes or added new content. I love MW2, but if they don’t fix things soon it’s headed same direction as Vanguard

Before the game launched, it was also rumored that Modern Warfare 2 would feature a custom map editor as well, which kept several players excited but in reality, that was not the case.

Another player even claimed that Call of Duty as a franchise hasn’t done well in the last 3 releases, neither in content nor in gameplay.

Some are even of the viewpoint that if the developers cannot introduce new events or attractive features to the game, they should at least bring back the Verdansk and Rebirth maps.

Players hope that the developers will add new content to the game after seeing the recent drop in player count on Steam.

Modern Warfare 2 players asking for the return of shipment

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7), multiple players have been furious since the removal of the shipment mode and are now asking the developers to bring it back in the game.

Modern Warfare 2 recently received an update after which the Shipment 24×7 playlist was removed and Shoot House was re-introduced.

Some have even requested the developers to keep the ‘Shoot House mode’ and the ‘Shipment mode’ together in the game, as it would make them feel more motivated to continue playing the game.

Some Modern Warfare 2 players are waiting for the upcoming ‘Season 2 update’ release whereas some have even switched to some other games due to the lack of content.

That said, we’ll keep an eye on the issue and update this article as and when something noteworthy comes up.

Update 1 (Jan. 17, 2023)

12:20 pm (IST): As we mentioned in the story, multiple MW2 players have been eagerly awaiting the Season 2 update to receive some worthwhile new content.

However, a recent leak suggests that even the arrival of the Season 2 update was delayed. According to the report, the update will be released on February 15 instead of February 1 as planned.

It’s worth pointing out that there is still no official confirmation about it from the devs.
