HBO Max subtitles stuck or keep turning on for some PS5 & PS4 users after latest update

HBO Max opens up multiple opportunities for users who love to watch television shows, movies, and HBO Max Originals. The OTT service appears to be a favorite for many with a count of 76.8 million active users.

Some PS4 and PS5 users have reported (1,2,3,4,5) that the subtitles on the app are stuck on or keep turning on by themselves, even if they have previously turned them off.

@HBOMaxHelp I’m having the same issue as many other people are with the hbo max PS4 app. If there are this many people having issues, it’s a problem on your end. I have to turn off subtitles on every new episode I watch. It’s tiresome and it’s on you to fix it.
