Bank of America (also known as BOA or BofA) offers multiple products and services in the financial area. Therefore, it is the option chosen by many users to manage their money.
BOA also offers support to Zelle, a digital payment system that allows its users to easily send and receive money. Customers can manage their Zelle balance through the Bank of America Mobile Banking app.
That said, a few hours ago there was an outage on the BOA servers for Zelle, which caused problems in transactions and missing money from user accounts.
Bank of America (BOA) reportedly to take care of Zelle overdraft charges due to the missing money glitch
According to Bank of America, the Zelle bug has already been fixed, so the payment platform should already be working correctly with BOA accounts.
However, one of the annoying consequences of the problem was the ‘overdraft charges’. These charges are the result of failed transactions during outage due to missing money in the account (not enough balance).
Yep missing $2500 from my account and just overdrafted because of it

I had a transfer not go through in time due to a system error, but the credit card pulled funds just fine. I ended up getting hit with an overdraft fee due to their issue.

While the outage appears to have been resolved, overdraft charges are reportedly still affecting user accounts. This issue has many concerned who are not sure how to proceed about it.
That said, it seems that those affected should not worry. According to a Zelle user, the Bank of America (BOA) support team responded that they will take care of the overdraft fees.
I am being told by bank of America that is on zelle to fix and they don’t have an eta but they will take care of any overdraft fees! Thanks a lot! How about my bills that are bouncing my account!?!!

However, It’s worth pointing out that there is still no ETA for the fix to the Zelle ‘overdraft charges’ issue derived from the outage.
Anyway, to avoid any related problems during the return of overdraft charges, the following is recommended:
The integrity of the funds is the responsibility of the bank
The Zelle team also clarifies that they do not have access to the Zelle user profiles or payments from their partners. That is, the integrity of the funds is the responsibility of the bank.
Hello, the Zelle app and network are up and running. As one of our partner banks, Bank of America is in full control of the Zelle feature in their app. We do not have access to the profiles, payments, or records of those associated with them.

Meanwhile, the BOA support team has been responding to affected users recommending sending a DM to resolve the ‘missing money’ issue.
To top it off, in the last hours, BOA clients have been receiving the following notification:
