Here’s the crux of the article in video form:

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on July 25, 2022) follows:

MultiVersus is a free-to-play crossover fighting game that lets you choose some of the most iconic characters from Warner Bros.

The game has received a positive response from gamers, but it is still in the early access stage, so there are some bugs and issues that might affect your gaming experience.

Among them are lag and latency issues that some MultiVersus players have been experiencing. According to reports, these issues sometimes make the game unplayable during matches (1,2,3,4).

@multiversus can you PLEASE fix the lag in your servers? It’s literally unplayable when I get hit off stage and get teleported downwards!
Source

Ok, the multiversus so far has gotten worse with all the lag. It’s way out of hand….. I know I can’t be the only one with this problem. Attacks are not hitting the opponent and clearly there is an invisible hit box hitting me without me touching them

Many have confirmed that the latency issues persist even if you have a decent internet connection.

For some, the connection status constantly shows orange or red bars. For those unaware, the connection status ideally should be green for the best performance and the least latency.

These issues aren’t limited to a specific platform either. Both PC and console players have been reporting about them.

Official acknowledgment

Fortunately, Warner Bros. Games support has acknowledged the MultiVersus lag or latency issues and is currently investigating them. However, there is no ETA for a fix at the moment.

Update 2 (November 9, 2022)

09:21 am (IST): After some testing time in limited territories, MultiVersus developers have enabled Multi-path traffic acceleration world-wide.

It is a technology designed to reduce latency, improve connection and ping during matches.

Good news, MVPs! We’ve enabled Multi-path traffic acceleration world-wide! In Taz terms, “better connection and ping this does. Good soup!”

Also, those players running any 3rd party routing can disable the option if they wish.

More specifically, this feature will assist in finding the best route from your matches to a game server, improving ping and connection. If you are running any 3rd party routing, please know you will need to turn this off or disable MultiVersus Acceleration in the MVS settings.
