COD: Modern Warfare 2 'voice or proximity chat names stuck on screen' for some, issue acknowledged
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is quite a popular name in the first-person shooter genre. Thanks to its new gameplay innovations and frequent updates, it easily manages to keep the players hooked to it.
But due to a recent issue, Modern Warfare 2 has once again become the talk of the town. This time, gamers are facing difficulties when chatting with others.
COD: Modern Warfare 2 ‘voice or proximity chat names stuck on screen’
The voice chat glitch causes the chat indicators to get stuck on the screen across matches. Some also say that players’ names are displayed on their screen even if a match has ended or they’ve started a new match.
This makes it difficult to identify whether one of their teammates is communicating with them or their enemy.
In Modern Warfare II build 188.8.131.5272565 there is a recurring issue where the voice chat in-game popup gets stuck between or during games and cannot be removed until you restart the whole game
Voice chat notifications are permanently stuck on screen if people are talking when a match ends.
Why is voice chat now stuck on the screen throughout multiple games… The people aren’t even in my lobby anymore.
Apparently, it seems like the issue is triggered when 4 or more players are conversing with another person at the same time.
Players have tried restarting the game but that doesn’t help solve the problem.
Fortunately, the developers have officially acknowledged the issue where player names freeze on the chat panel HUD.
But it looks like you might have to wait a little longer as the issue still remains unresolved after a month of acknowledgment.
That said, we’ll keep an eye on the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 issue where voice or proximity chat names appear to be stuck on the screen and update this article.
