Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is quite a popular name in the first-person shooter genre. Thanks to its new gameplay innovations and frequent updates, it easily manages to keep the players hooked to it.
But due to a recent issue, Modern Warfare 2 has once again become the talk of the town. This time, gamers are facing difficulties when chatting with others.
Some claim that the issue came into existence only after the recently released Season 01 ‘Reloaded’ update.
COD: Modern Warfare 2 ‘voice or proximity chat names stuck on screen’
According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), some users are facing difficulties communicating with their teammates during a match.
The voice chat glitch causes the chat indicators to get stuck on the screen across matches. Some also say that players’ names are displayed on their screen even if a match has ended or they’ve started a new match.
This makes it difficult to identify whether one of their teammates is communicating with them or their enemy.
In Modern Warfare II build 1.8.7.13372565 there is a recurring issue where the voice chat in-game popup gets stuck between or during games and cannot be removed until you restart the whole game

Apparently, it seems like the issue is triggered when 4 or more players are conversing with another person at the same time.
Players have tried restarting the game but that doesn’t help solve the problem.
Official acknowledgment
Fortunately, the developers have officially acknowledged the issue where player names freeze on the chat panel HUD.
But it looks like you might have to wait a little longer as the issue still remains unresolved after a month of acknowledgment.
