With that said, HBO Max has recently increased their subscription price by $1. So those planning to subscribe or continue with their subscription will now have to pay $15.99 a month instead of $14.99, effective immediately.

According to HBO Max, this increase in price will help them improve user experience and provide even more culture-defining programming.

However, some users aren’t happy with this decision as HBO Max has removed some of their favorite shows from the platform following the price increase.

Are we really surprised by the price hike for HBO Max? They were gonna do this shit after gutting their library of content. Less content for a higher price. Just cruel. (Source)

…@hbomax, the hell is your problem? A price increase? Really? For what content, exactly, am I being charged extra for? You keep taking stuff away! It would be cheaper to just buy the DVDs for the shows I have you for! (Source)

As apparent from the reports above, users aren’t quite happy with this change and are willing to cancel their plans. Some also believe that they conveniently hiked the price before the release of ‘All of Us’.

However, if you are among those who already have an annual subscription, then you won’t have to pay an extra dollar a month, but only until the subscription ends.

Furthermore, a user has pointed out that if you opt to cancel your current subscription, then you’ll be offered a 50% discount on the three months plan. So, this could be a clever way to save some money.

HBO Max pro tip: if you go to cancel your subscription now they’ll give you 3 months for half price! (Source)

We hope that HBO Max brings back the missing content on their platform so that those paying a dollar extra get to stream their favorite shows and movies.

Rest assured, we will keep an eye out for the latest developments and inform you as and when we come across anything noteworthy.
