Ever since its acquisition by Elon Musk, Twitter has been the talk of the town. The platform has been criticized by some due to a series of controversial decisions made by Musk in the past.
Even though some new features were recently added and certain changes made to the platform’s feature set, some were not well received by the audience.
For instance, we recently covered a story where Twitter’s newly introduced ‘view count’ feature was criticized by some users as they found it to be useless and distracting.
Now, some Twitter users are said to be facing an issue where the like button does not appear on the feed. The problem popped up after the recently introduced ‘view count’ feature.
Twitter ‘like button’ removed or missing in feed
According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple users are facing an issue where the like button appears to be missing or removed from the app feed on iOS.
Those affected now only see the ‘view count’, ‘comment’, and ‘retweet’ buttons in the feed. One now needs to open a ‘Tweet’ first in order to access the option to like it.
So now, you must click twice on a tweet or a post in order to be able to like it, which some find to be quite irritating.
Also, another Twitter user complained that clicking twice on a video would mute it instead of liking it, which is also problematic for some.
This issue also has been persistent for quite some time, but the developers have not yet fully resolved it.

Some are requesting the developers to bring back the ‘like button’ option on their app feed. This would allow them to like a post in a jiffy like they earlier could.

We do hope that Twitter pays attention to these requests and brings back the ‘like button’ in the feed.
No official response
Unfortunately, Twitter has not yet officially acknowledged the issue. So, it looks like users might have to wait for a while before the issues get addressed.
Potential workaround
Fortunately, we did come across a potential workaround which might help solve the problem for some.
iOS users are recommended to switch the ‘Display Zoom’ option from ‘Zoomed’ to ‘Standard’ mode. After doing so, the like button should appear on your feed like it normally would.
That said, we’ll keep an eye on the issue where the like button on Twitter appears to have been removed or is missing from the iOS feed and update this article as and when something noteworthy comes up.
