It has been 11 years since the launch of the popular social networking service Letterboxd, connecting those who are passionate about movies and cinema and allowing them to share their love for it.
One can share their viewpoints and opinions about a film or its storyline, keep track of the films they have previously watched, record viewing dates, and showcase their favorite films.
The cataloged movies can be rated, reviewed, added to a specific date’s diary entry, included in a list, and tagged with relevant keywords.
Over the course of the 11 years, the platform has evolved significantly, adding new features and transforming into a movie lover’s paradise.
Letterboxd Year in Review 2022 (Wrapped) is almost here
The ‘Year in Review’ or ‘Wrapped’ concept is becoming popular among the masses at a fast pace. Letterboxd, like other social media platforms, offers the ‘Year in Review’ feature for its members as well.
Users have taken to social media to show their excitement for its release. And clearly, some people (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) seem quite impatient regarding its availability.

Most of the other platforms deliver their year-in-review in December but exclude the review for this final month of the year.
Letterboxd distinguishes itself from other platforms as its review includes data for the month of December as well. As a result, it may be launched one month late in the month of January.
For instance, Year in Review 2021 which came around Jan 10, last year, was based on the community members’ combined ratings as of January 1, 2022.
But it must be noted that it includes only those films in the review that were released worldwide between January 1 and December 31.

The platform recently announced that it’s going to release the stats for the year 2022 soon.

Every platform member will also get a personalized Year-in-Review email containing a few key stats, including one’s most watched actor or director, based upon your previous year’s diary.
But keep in mind that there are certain requirements that one needs to fulfill in order to get Letterboxd’s Year in Review.
For instance, a user must have logged at least ten films during the year and must have opted-in to receive general email notifications from the platform.
Therefore, the social media service has also reminded its users to make sure that they enable the “Letterboxd news” option in the newsletter subscription panel, a glimpse of which is shown below.

As has been the case in previous years, the Year in Review will be released during the first week of January 2023.

02:22 pm (IST): Many users are eagerly waiting for their wrapped emails from Letterboxd. However, it’s worth noting that last year’s wrapped arrived 10 days after the new year, so users may have to wait this time as well.
Update 2 (January 05, 2023)
02:04 pm (IST): Letterboxd support has announced that their year in review will be released this Friday (ET). And the wrapped emails will be available after that.

Update 3 (January 06, 2023)
08:15 pm (IST): The Letterboxd Year in Review is now out. Here’s the official announcement on Twitter.
That said, a lot of users are reporting (1,2,3,4,5) that they still haven’t got their wrapped stats in their emails.
