Here’s the crux of the article in video form

Modern Warfare 2 introduced a lot of changes to the already tried and tested ‘Call of Duty’ formula. Some things were an instant hit and some missed the mark when it came to meeting expectations.

The recent Season 1 Reloaded update was heavily criticized by players, especially the new Warzone Cup. Joining the list of modes that have received negative feedback is the ‘Tier 1’ mode.

COD: Modern Warfare 2 ‘Tier 1’ mode criticized

The ‘Tier 1’ mode was released on November 16, 2022, as an exciting place for those who appreciate realism in their gameplay. However, the same players are now expressing their frustration with its implementation.

While the mode sticks to its promise of a ‘realistic experience’, some find it a little overwhelming. It does not show hit markers, crosshairs, kill confirmations, or even a kill feed. Basically, almost no HUD at all.

It completely fails to offer an experience that is fun for the player. Some are going as far as calling it the worst mode in the entire game.

Tier 1, on the other hand… Oof! I’m surprised half the lobby doesn’t get kicked for inactivity. Apparently, the people playing Tier 1 are fearful of moving. The game starts, everyone runs to their favorite corner and then crickets. Nothing happens.

On top of the existing issues, the mode is filled with campers or players that are just trying to complete their daily or weekly objectives. The same old ‘camping in a corner, trying to get a long shot’ trick.

The mode also features health regeneration which is contradictory to its entire brand. What’s the point of having automatic healing in a mode that is supposed to offer a rough experience?

Tier 1 is not Hardcore

The Hardcore mode was basically a harder version of the COD Multiplayer present in previous iterations of the series. Ever since Tier 1 was announced, comparisons with the OG Hardcore mode began as well.

The whole reason I buy COD games is to play Hardcore in Multiplayer. Tier 1 isn’t hardcore and I can’t get a refund because I was about 1 hour over the 2 hour limit.

Tier 1, isn’t Hardcore, I think majority of us Hardcore players can agree on that

Unfortunately, Tier 1 has not received the same love that Hardcore once did. Players are now asking Infinity Ward to bring back the beloved game mode as its successor failed to impress the masses.

The COD: Modern Warfare 2 developers have not yet commented on the issues related to the Tier 1 mode. We hope they listen to players’ feedback and make the necessary changes.

We’ll keep an eye on this matter and update this story to reflect noteworthy developments.
