Galaxy Fold 4 Dbrand Grip case release failures

In August this year, Dbrand announced its upcoming ‘Grip case’ for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 resulting in many looking forward to its release.

The case was made available for pre-order, with shipping at the time scheduled to begin in October. Customers were excitedly waiting for their cases to arrive, but things didn’t go as planned.

After some time, it was officially announced that the shipment would not be possible by October. Dbrand customers took to social media to express their frustration with the company.

Some reported that the company had repeatedly made delays while shipping their products in the past as well.

Oh, it’s preorder. Dbrand are notorious for extending case preorder dates. I’ll just wait until it’s readily available
Source

Yep, and in October they will delay it until November or December, lol.

The company had sent an email to users providing them information about the cause of the delay.

It was revealed that the company needed more time in order to add a hinge protection mechanism for the Samsung Galaxy Fold 4, thereby further delaying the shipping process.

Some customers were of the viewpoint that the hinge protection mechanism was not only bulky but also unnecessary.

I cancelled it when they emailed for the first delay. Now that they were adding hinge cover, it looked similar to my bulky spigen.

Dbrand informed its customers that the next release date would be near Christmas. This was understandably disappointing for a lot of people.

But the delay saga continues. Recently, pre-order customers received another email stating that their orders would be further delayed.

Affected Galaxy Fold 4 owners have now been given a fresh dispatch date for the product, which is set for the second half of January 2023.

Dbrand mentioned that a part that’s needed for the hinge mechanism to work efficiently was not readily available due to a shortage.

Customers’ response

Several Fold 4 owners feel let down by the company’s casual approach toward the product. Some even went ahead and canceled their pre-orders when Dbrand announced the delay for the first time back in October.

Those who had some little patience left have now lost it and are proceeding ahead with canceling their pre-orders.

Looks awful! Already canceled my pre-order. So disappointed, I was really looking forward to this case but hinge protection is so pointless
Source

Ya, I canceled my order… I didn’t want hinge protection, I’d rather have my phone sit flat on a table…
Source

Some Fold 4 owners are quite unhappy since there has been a long delay in shipping than usual and they may have got their phone protected with cases from other brands.

That said, we will keep an eye on the Dbrand Grip case fiasco for the Samsung Galaxy Fold 4 and update this story as we come across any new information.
