[Updated] COD Modern Warfare 2 XP tokens missing or not showing up; Calling card, Emblem & Showcase operator also not working
New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on October 31, 2022) follows:
On October 28, 2022, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II was released, ushering in a new era in the COD franchise. The Vault Edition is the most expensive edition of MW 2, with an MSRP of $99.99 or the equivalent in your country.
It is available for all platforms and has complete crossplay functionality, which Activision announced with the game’s release and can be experienced in-game right now.
COD Modern Warfare 2 XP tokens missing
According to reports, many COD Modern Warfare 2 players are reporting an issue where the 2 XP tokens are missing or not working for them (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8).
Many COD titles have included double XP tokens, often known as 2x XP tokens. When players equip these items, they gain additional experience points that enable them to swiftly rank up their weapons, Battle Pass, and operators’ levels.
Those who pre-ordered the vault edition of MW 2 were intended to receive 10 hours of double XP tokens and 10 hours of double weapon XP tokens.
However, the double XP tokens that were supposed to be given to COD Modern Warfare 2 players have not yet appeared in their accounts.
@ATVIAssist Paid $99 for your game. Can’t change calling card or emblem (always reverts back). None of my double XP tokens are showing up. All it shows is my CP. WTFrag?!?!? Today isn’t release day!
I just spent the extra $30 cause I thought I’d get XP token. I want my $ back, who gives af about operators when all you’re doing is playing invasion every fkn map to unlock the rest of the game?
Some players are losing XP tokens due to crashing issues. When they come back from a crash, they realize that their token has been wasted and are now demanding refunds or a better way to deal with this(1,2,3).
Showcase operator, calling card & emblem not working
Another issue that has plagued many players is regarding the showcase operator, calling card, and emblem not working (1,2,3,4,5).
Players can display their preferred operator, weapon, and calling card in the lobby of MW2. But every time a player selects the showcase, it automatically reverts to default and their changes are not saved.
@InfinityWard @ATVIAssist @Activision @CallofDuty SHOWCASE operator, calling card, emblems not working. Nothing changes. At least acknowledge you are fixing the problem. It’s extremely frustrating it’s been 3 days and no word about this problem. #mw2 #ModernWarfare2 #ModernWarfare
We hope Infinity Ward soon patches the problem. When they do, we will be updating this space to reflect the same so stay tuned.
Update 1 (November 01, 2022)
17:35 pm (IST): As it turns out, Call of Duty Japan has acknowledged the calling card and emblem not working issue and said a fix is underway. But no ETA was provided.
Update 2 (November 02, 2022)
05:02 pm (IST): There is a reason why some Modern Warfare 2 players who purchased the ‘Vault Edition’ are not receiving their bonus XP tokens.
According to the official Modern Warfare II Editions FAQ website, bonus XP tokens are only available to those who purchased the game through the Call of Duty in-game store.
This means that, if you purchased the MW2 Vault Edition from any other digital platform, you are not eligible for the reward.
However, this is causing frustration among many players. They consider that Activision was not clear enough during the game promotion, and they thought that all ‘Vault Editions’ would bring the bonus XP tokens.
So we really paid £100 just to not be given out 10 hour XP token, just because we didn’t directly pay for the pre order vault edition through the call of duty store?
I really wish there were more laws behind gaming monitisation because it’s getting to the point where companies can now falsely advertise a game or cosmetic and get away with it.
I agree, this is technically being sold as a different version but all under the same name of ‘Vault Edition’. If you buy said Vault Edition it shouldn’t matter where you buy it from – they should all contain exactly the same items. At best this is 100% misleading advertising.
Update 3 (November 7, 2022)
02:28 pm (IST): According to COD Japan support, the issue with tokens missing will be fixed in a future update. However, they didn’t provide any ETA for the same.
We are planning to fix this in an update. We are unable to confirm the remaining time at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience. (Source) (Translated)
Update 4 (November 16, 2022)
07:48 pm (IST): According to fresh reports (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), stats are still not tracking for some Modern Warfare 2 players.
Update 5 (November 18, 2022)
06:27 pm (IST): Some players (1, 2, 3) are furious because they say that their XP tokens are getting wasted due to the high queuing times and crashing.
Update 6 (November 23, 2022)
07:17 pm (IST): Infinity Ward has released Season 1 update for Modern Warfare 2 with a fix for the issue where correct number of Battle Pass tokens are not appearing in Battle Pass Menu.
Update 7 (December 16, 2022)
02:01 pm (IST): Multiple reports indicate that the Modern Warfare 2 issue where battle pass tokens are resetting, not showing or not working is affecting some players again (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
As a potential workaround, players who are unable to use their battle pass tokens can log out and relog in, then try to use them again.
Update 8 (December 20, 2022)
05:17 pm (IST): There is a new MW2 update available whose changelog includes a fix for the use of Battle Pass Tokens.
