@EE whyyyyyy can’t I ring landline phone numbers? It keeps saying ‘call failed’ when I try, but I can ring mobile numbers no problem— Angel (@AngelMidgley21) May 21, 2019
[Update: Dec. 19] EE phone network down/crashed, users report outage (signal problems) today
There are new updates that have been added to the bottom of this story…
Looks like communications service provider EE’s network is having issues as a lot of users are complaining. Affected ones are taking to social media platforms like Twitter to share the problems they are experiencing.
Here are some reports:
#EE Phone network is down causing chaos @EE— Kirye-Gigs (@Kiryegigs) May 21, 2019
@EE everytime I make a call I’m getting call failed. I’ve restarted my phone same issue. I’ve taken my sim out same problem. Please can you help?— Dayoooo (@JR_Kolade) May 21, 2019
Specifically, the phone/mobile network seems to be down. For its part, the company’s social media teams are trying to debug individual complaints.
Can you please restart your phone?
Hey, Marie. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Is this still happening now? If it is, can you please restart your phone.— EE (@EE) May 21, 2019
Please let me know how you get on. - David
However, switching off and on isn’t making any difference for many users. Here’s what a user said:
I have already done this and I’m still unable to make or receive calls – which is not ideal when you need access to these services to get your work done. By the sounds of it the EE service is down across London and this isn’t an isolated issue
Another users said they confirmed with EE business support team that it is nationwide outage.
This is a nationwide issue, I’ve spoken to the business support team who are aware of it. It’s affecting outgoing calls
So far, no statement or official word has apparently been issued on the matter. However, according to The Sun, EE is actively looking into the matter.
If you are affected, rest assured, we are keeping an active tab, and will update the story as and when more info comes to light. So keep checking back.
