New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on December 5, 2022) follows:
‘AI filter’ apps are becoming more and more popular. In the last few days, there has been a lot of talk about Lensa, one of the most recent alternatives in this segment.
AI editor filters are not exactly new, since I have seen apps like Prisma for years. However, the results they produce are getting better and better as time goes by.
Lensa app allows you to obtain ‘artistic’ photos with very striking results. It also facilitates more traditional edits like adding Bokeh to a portrait (or even removing it), facial retouching, and more.
That said, currently some Lensa users are experiencing an issue where ‘Magic Avatars’ are not loading or working for them.
Lensa ‘Magic Avatars’ not loading or working
Lensa ‘Magic Avatars’ is a feature that generates an ‘avatar pack’ based on a photo you upload. However, this feature is not working correctly for some.
According to multiple reports, the app is getting stuck while uploading a picture to generate the Magic Avatars. Users are just getting endless loading screens or exaggerated processing times (from 99 minutes to 9 days).
Going to take 9 days to generate pics…. What happened?
I’m doing another round of pics because wow is this ever fun. But my current round is going to take over 550 minutes to finish? Why? Did the app just explode with new users?

99 minute wait time?
Anyone else have crazy wait times for an avatar pack?did one the other night that was done in about 20 minutes. Been waiting all day on this second set and it still says 99 minutes?

In other cases, Lensa users are getting errors like ‘Service unavailable‘ and ‘Upload failed‘ while trying to upload an image:
Upload failed?
I keep trying to do the magic avatar. I chose the photos, paid for it, and then it stays at 0/20 and says upload failed. Any ideas?

Unfortunately not. I’m just getting the “service unavailable” message now. Hopefully it will sort itself out. Glad you got yours to work though

There is still no official acknowledgment of the issue from the Lensa developers. We will update this story once new related relevant developments emerge.
Update 1 (December 06, 2022)

If one of the questions is about Magic Avatars, please check the info below:
“Where are my avatars?” Please check that the app is updated (Android & iOS), launch Lensa, try logging out and logging in to the app account (in the “Settings” section), and open the Magic Avatars again.
if you see a pack with avatars, just wait for its loading 🤍
if the pack isn’t displayed, please wait for a response from us 🙏
Update 2 (December 07, 2022)
05:50 pm (IST): According to reports, some Lensa users who purchased Magic Avatars packs are anxious as they still haven’t received their images (1,2,3,4).
When a user contacted Lensa support, they provided the following explanation:
If you have a problem with your purchase, so sorry for the inconvenience! We had a temporary technical issue Please don’t worry! Information about the purchase has been kept on the device so you can generate the pack again 🙂
Source
They also provided a few steps to do in order to obtain these avatars without having to pay for them again:
1. Check the pack that you purchased in the letter from Google Play or in the Payments & Subscriptions section of the Google Play account
2. Open Magic Avatars, choose and load your photos again
3. When you see packs, select the same number of avatars, and approve the purchase but money won’t be withdrawn again, you will see the “item already owned” message.
4. After that, avatars will start generating.

If you continue to have problems after completing these steps, you may contact the Lensa team again or request a refund through the App Store and Play Store.
