New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on December 5, 2022) follows:

A multiplayer online role-playing game, World of Warcraft allows players to take on the roles of Warcraft heroes.

We all know for a fact that various campaigns and modes make up for quite an enriching experience. Similarly, World of Warcraft: Dragonflight introduced the Azure Span to let players reclaim the Azure Oathstone.

But the game has also been plagued by various bugs and issues. For instance, we recently highlighted how the ‘Feldrake mount’ was not showing for some players.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Azure Span lag

And now, a number of World of Warcraft players (1,2,3,4,5) are reporting an issue where they are noticing a lag or latency in the Azure Span.

It’s a shame because I love the zone, but it’s the only zone I’ve also had a ton of lag. A few guildies also mentioned noticing it. Wondering if it’s a server problem or a zone problem.

Issue started earlier today. There’s probably a 1-2 second or so lag between ability press and action. Reset router and pc (ping and FPS are fine), unloaded all addons. Anyone else getting this?

Apparently, World of Warcraft recently announced a new Dragonflight zone called the Azure Span. It lets players venture into different chapters in order to be sent further to finish the remaining Dragonflight journey.

However, the recent bug is making the game nearly unplayable thus causing the entire Azure Span to lag massively and constantly.

This is incredibly frustrating for players as the game lags for a good number of seconds thus making it even harder to make loots or do almost anything.

No acknowledgment

Blizzard has not yet acknowledged the lag or latency bug in the World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Azure Span.

We also haven’t come across any workaround that can help resolve the issue temporarily.

We’ll keep tabs on the latest developments and update this space as and when something noteworthy comes up.

Update 1 (Dec. 06, 2022)

05:38 pm (IST): According to reports, the Azure Span lag or latency issues become prominent in the heavily populated zones caused by players trying to find rare items.

It seems like the lag gets worse in heavily populated zones, it’s nothing you can fix or avoid really. Azure Span has a bunch of easy to find rares and the soup event that attracts lots of people so the zone can get slow.
