Original story (from Oct 17) follows:

Just in case you’re trying to get your head around why the popular British telecom and internet service provider Three UK’s network is down, and you’re not getting any data connection, then find solace in the fact that you aren’t the only one facing issues lately.

A quick look at micro-blogging site Twitter conveys there are many other affected by the network issue and that the service has been down for hours now. For a quick glance, here’s how some of the complainants word the problem:

@ThreeUK how long the network will be down?

@ThreeUK hello, my husband and I are not getting any data connection this morning. Is something down?

@ThreeUK is the network down? my phone has wifi only

@ThreeUK @ThreeUKSupport down all night ,no service ,no internet

Down detector – a popular service that gives information about live outages – also reflects that 3 (Three) UK is indeed going through a glitch in many regions (like Manchester, London, Glasgow, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Bradford, Nottingham, Edinburgh & Sheffield) as can be seen in the image below:

Any official word on the matter? While not much has been stated on Three’s social media handles, their server status page at least conveys a maintenance is going on, and the site will be up soon.

[Danger! Geeks at Work!]
Sorry, our fleet of geeks are doing essential maintenance work – but our site will be up and running soon.

In the meantime, if you’re looking for a new SIM, phone or Mobile Broadband device, you can still check out our online store.

There’s no ETA for how long will the service take to get back up.

Rest assured, we’re keeping a continuous tab on all related developments, and will update this page with relevant info as and when we come across any. So in case you’re encountering the problem discussed here, stay hooked for updates.
