[Update: Dec. 1] Revolut app down, users unable to login

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on August 13, 2021) follows:

We understand service outages or breakage are pretty common. But when an outage ends up concerning a massive user base, it becomes worth highlighting. Something similar is happening with the banking app Revolut, as of writing this.

For past some time, a proliferation of reports saying the service is down, and one can’t login are populating the online discussion platform Twitter. Users are reportedly asked to enter their registered mobile number again on accessing the app. Here’s what some of the users get to see:

Take a look at what some of the complainants have to say:

Is ther any downtime on your end at the moment? When I open the app, I’m asked to enter my phone number. When I do I get an error.

Having trouble logging into my account on two new devices—not receiving email. Can’t get support because can’t log in.

“We’ve sent an email to [blank].”

Mate all of their services are down. Literally the worst time to join.

Down detector also conveys Revolut is going through a rough patch in some regions as can be seen in the live outage map below:

While reports continue to snowball, there’s yet to come an official word from the service providers. Worry not, we’re keeping a close watch on the service providers social media channels for more information on what could be causing this problem.

We’ll share with you the relevant developments as and when we bump into any. So keep a tab of this space for the latest info on the matter.
