New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on November 18, 2022) follows:

With the controversial FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 fast approaching, FIFA 23 players were given additional content to commemorate the occasion.

The World Cup swaps event has been running since November 11, and legends of the game such as Patrick Vieira and Cafu can be grabbed as rewards after obtaining the required tokens.

However, there seems to be an issue with it.

FIFA 23 World Cup swaps error

FIFA 23 gamers are reporting an error after playing World Cup swaps friendly in FUT (1,2,3,4,5).

FIFA 23 players rejoiced when EA implemented the golden goal rule (whoever scores first wins) during friendlies to earn World Cup swaps token.

This was done to shorten the time it would take to get 6 wins, which may take a long time.

However, players are now getting kicked out of FUT in FIFA 23 and getting ‘The EA servers are unable to process your request’ error after playing swaps friendlies.

It occurs regardless of whether a game is won or lost, and it is frustrating for the match’s winners because it is regarded as a loss.

after 56 games and 20 losses i started to get the error (The EA servers are unable to process your request) when the games ends which as far as i am away is a soft ban for to many DNF, but i haven’t quit a game i would say its just from the game ending after someone scores

I was playing fifa 23 with a great Internet connection.
I won 3 matches(2 play offs and 1 rivels ) – in the 3 games when i pressed “X” to skip the ref’s wistle the game told me that the ea servers are unable to process…

Moreover, players are unable to enter FUT since this error keeps appearing with every attempt to access the game mode.

It appears as if they are getting soft-banned since the game interprets the golden goal rule as a forced exit from a match.

its usually a 24 hour soft ban. I would recommend switching to old gen if you can because it won’t kick you out. If you don’t have both gens of the game, the best thing to do is just wait a full day.

A player advised switching to the game’s old-gen version, which is supposedly not affected by this bug.

Issue acknowledged

Fortunately, EA support didn’t take too long to acknowledge the World Cup swaps issue and said that they are currently investigating it. However, they did not provide any ETA for the fix.

Hi. Thanks for your patience. The disconnections will go away on their own after a few hours. It’s advised to not play a very high number of matches in short succession to avoid triggering the security limit.

Update 3 (Nov. 30, 2022)

Thanks for reaching out about this WC Swaps issue in FIFA 23. We’ve recently added a 60 game per day limit to this Mode as well as a Timer, so this should help to prevent this error going forward. (Source)
