New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on November 28, 2022) follows:

If you use Spotify on a regular basis or are a big-time music enthusiast, chances are you’ve already heard a lot about Instafest.

In case you missed it, Instafest is a third-party website that lets you create a festival lineup from your top artists. All you have to do is sign into your Spotify account and share the poster with the rest of the world.

There are a number of such websites and apps that analyze your Spotify listening habits and help present such data in a fun and compelling way. Some of these platforms include Spotify Wrapped, Receiptify, Icebergify, and more.

Spotify Instafest embarrassing results

However, it’s not as fun as it may sound because a number of users are already embarrassed to post their Spotify Instafest results.

The hype that was created by the app prompted a number of users to hop on to this trend. But they were quickly taken aback by the utterly awkward results.

Some are even dreading the results of Wrapped considering the humiliating Spotify Instafest analysis.

While most users are not willing to share their weird listening habits, others are convinced that the app is not real at all.

thought the instafest thing was real do not talk to me

It’s called instafest! It uses spotify to come up with your own line up lol it’s not real

Granted that the app is nothing short of a dream come true and helps users create posters, it can be seriously misleading for some. It merely uses Spotify data to push out results and present them in an attractive way.

Unavailability of Instafest on Apple quite disappointing

With some concerned about the reliability of the app, Apple users are disappointed to find that it is not supported on their devices.

massive fomo seeing this instafest trend. i want silly little third party things for apple music too 😞

Some users are a bit agitated about not being able to enjoy the thrill of it simply because Apple Music doesn’t support some third-party apps and websites.

How to get your Spotify festival lineup

It seems that getting along with Spotify Instafest is quite easy. Users simply need to click on the ‘Sign in with Spotify’ button on the website or app.

This will give the website the right to access users’ Spotify accounts and data. Instafest will then automatically generate a festival lineup poster based on the users’ listening history over the last few months.

Finally, users can save and share the final result on certain platforms. Moreover, they can even customize the poster according to their preferences.

Users can typically modify the results on the basis of the duration (Last 4 weeks, Last 6 months, or All-time) of the listening history and style (Malibu Sunrise, LA Twilight, and Mojave Dusk).

Update 1 (November 29, 2022)

02:54 pm (IST): With Spotify Wrapped 2022 around the corner, several Apple users are demanding a similar feature.

It comes after the tech giant released its own Apple Music Replay feature that merely creates a simple playlist based on the most-listened songs, albums, and artists.

07:30 pm (IST): Reports on Twitter (1, 2) now suggest that some users are getting confused if the festival lineup that many are sharing via Instafest is real or fake. And it’s irritating as Wrapped 2022, which is official, is just around the corner.
