Warzone 2.0 is finally here and has already taken the gaming world by storm. Just like its predecessor, it’s a battle royale where the team that survives the longest, wins the game.

It’s set in the fictional city of Al Mazrah within the United Republic of Adal and all of that is reflected in the game’s narrative, architecture, and mechanics.

If you’ve been playing Warzone 2.0 or DMZ, you might have come across the new ‘AQ soldier kills’ tab in your game stats.

Some are currently confused as to what this really means and how kills are counted. Fortunately, we do have an explanation for this new game mechanic/stat.

What are AQ soldier kills in Warzone 2.0?

AQ stands for Al Qatala, a terrorist organization that operates in the United Republic of Adal. An AQ soldier is basically someone who is part of this terrorist group and your natural opponent.

AQ soldiers are AI-controlled opponents or bots that you’ll find while playing various game modes in Warzone 2.0 or DMZ. When you defeat these enemies, your AQ soldier kill count gets reflected in your stats.

The Gulag, Strongholds and the Black Sites are currently the only three designated places where you’ll find these AQ soldiers for a chance to avail custom load-outs, Weapon Blueprints and other rewards.

The first team to complete the Stronghold and disarm the bomb gets the key to a Black Site along with their custom loadout. The Black Sites are more dangerous but also more rewarding.

Defeating all AQ soldiers in the Black Sites rewards players with a permanent Weapon Blueprint and even more valuable items for that particular match.

Do note that the AQ soldiers kill count is completely separate from your regular Operator kills.

Some players who might have unknowingly encountered AI-controlled enemies are confused to find multiple AQ kills being reflected in their stats.
