Their devices are accessible through their web portal or dedicated apps on various platforms. However, the service is not immune to the occasional bugs, issues or server outages.

Worry not. The server outage was planned in order to conduct maintenance/renovation. As stated by the company, today the server will be out from 2 AM and 6 AM EST.

Meanwhile, the ecobee thermostats will continue to work as expected, but the app, web portal and third party apps may not be available during the above-stated period of time. Also, Geofencing will not be available.

While reverting back to one of the users, ecobee also mentioned that there will be a gap in data, that will be taken care of.

There will be a gap in data for this time frame. But this is something we’ve been looking into, have the ecobee dump recorded data from when it was offline once it reconnects. Our original model, the ecobee Smart, was able to do this, but only save data in a 24hr window.
