Team Snapchat spamming with too many messages lately? Here's how to block or stop it

Snapchat began as a platform to connect people together, but it has now blossomed into much more. Users can buy, read the latest news, play games, and even make their own original videos.

The web version of Snapchat is one of the most significant updates that this popular social media platform will receive in 2022. Snapchat users can access their accounts from their laptop’s browser to video call or chat.

According to recent reports, many Snapchat users say that Team Snapchat is spamming them with too many messages (1,2,3,4,5,6,7).

Team Snapchat is the official Snapchat profile and it automatically adds itself as a friend to every user when they create an account on the platform.

It assists new users in getting started or discovering new trends that they may be interested in. Team Snapchat also occasionally sends out the latest announcements and notifications about new features.

Regrettably, they have recently started sending too many messages, thus spamming one’s notifications or chats, and have infuriated many users.

It has gotten to the point that Snapchat users are looking for ways to block or remove them.

i blocked team snapchat years ago and then got a snap from them. then i couldn’t block again so i unsubscribed??? somehow i was subscribed??? and they won’t stop snapping me

Several Snapchat users have assumed that you can’t block Team Snapchat because it’s the developers’ official account.

Fortunately, that’s not the case and you can go ahead and block Team Snapchat fairly easily if you want to do so. Follow these steps:

1. Swipe right to go to the Chat screen after opening the app
2. Tap and hold on a friend’s name
3. Tap on the ‘Manage Friendship’ option
4. Tap on ‘Block’

or

1. Swipe right to go to the Chat screen
2. Tap on a Chat with that friend 💬
3. Tap their profile icon at the top
4. Tap at the top, then tap on the ‘Manage Friendship’ option
4. Tap on ‘Block’

Getting a message or two occasionally from an official account doesn’t bother many, but when you keep getting spammed with messages, it’s a whole other deal.

It’s clear Snapchat needs to cut back on the spam, but it’s unclear if we’ll see any change at all.
