New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on Nov. 14, 2022) follows:

Music streaming platform, Spotify, lets you listen to your favorite music, and discover new songs with perfectly balanced daily and weekly recommendations of playlists.

It surprises its users with its exciting features and updates almost every year. For instance, Spotify’s ‘First song you played this year‘ pop-up became quite popular.

However, it doesn’t mean that it is immune to various bugs and issues creeping up every now and then.

Spotify showing random album cover

Having said that, a number of reports (1,2,3,4,5) suggest that some Spotify users are seeing random album covers instead of the actual ones.

Why is Spotify showing a generic album cover instead of the actual cover? This just started.

This random replacement of various album covers which most of the time aren’t even relevant to the songs is quite upsetting for some users.

Going by the generic or default covers, users are sometimes adding the wrong songs to their liked or customized playlists thus ending up with a lot of confusion.

Songs preview missing after latest update

It seems that Spotify’s random album cover is not the only issue here as many users are also noticing that the song preview feature has gone missing after the latest update (1,2,3,4,5,6).

@SpotifyCares what’s the point of removing previews at the new Spotify free tier update? More and more users are complaining about that.

Song Preview is a feature of Spotify that enables users to preview any song, album, artist, or playlist with the help of short audio clips.

But with the sudden unavailability of the feature, users are unable to get a sneak peek of the song or album they are interested in.
