New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on October 12, 2022) follows:

Launched back in 2016, Nest Wi-Fi is Google’s mesh-capable wireless router system that aims to provide seamless Wi-Fi coverage, especially in large areas.

In the mesh system, you need to create two or more Wi-Fi access points by setting up multiple Nest Wifi devices to cover large homes, offices, or buildings.

Nest Wifi point in Home app appears offline

With that being said, some users are now reporting that the Nest Wi-Fi point is showing up as offline in the Home app even when it isn’t.

It appears to be an issue with the Home app as those affected have confirmed that the lights on the device itself do not indicate any problem.

I turned off the router in my ATT modem/router combo a long time ago when I first got google WiFi. It sped up my WIFI insanely. But all my google wifi points show OFFLINE. I have an iPhone btw. (Source)

I’m running iOS and today 9/22/2022 the “Google Home” app pushed a new update, I was hoping it would fix the issue but IT DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. I don’t know how Google developers can’t fix the glitch, it’s been present for over 5 months!!

Guess they are not putting much importance to it since they say that “everything works and it’s only an app glitch that shows “offline” when indeed it still works. Seriously GOOGLE what efficiency! (Source)

And while Google is aware of this glitch and was supposed to release a fix for the same by the end of September, users are still waiting for it to get fixed.

Fortunately, we have come across any workaround that might help you resolve this issue. So, you can try your luck and see if it helps.

after force closing the Google home app it reappeared. Like others I’m leaving this alone for now. My internet is working fine and I have better things to do with my life :). Hopefully Google can reproduce this and fix this on a future version. Thanks again! (Source)

If the above-mentioned workaround isn’t helping you fix this glitch then you’ll have to wait until devs come up with a definitive solution.

Rest assured, we will keep a track of the latest developments related to this issue where Nest Wifi point in Home app appears offline and inform you as and when we come across any fresh reports.

Update 1 (November 14, 2022)

12:19 pm (IST): One of our readers has offered a potential fix for the problem:

You have to change your ISP router/modem to bridge mode. I have Xfinity and I assume that when I upgraded my modem this problem started but I never made the correlation.

Thanks for the tip, Gdi King!
