Halo Infinite just introduced the biggest winter update with features like Forge and campaign network co-op.

The Forge Mode provides a set of creation tools that allow players to design maps, modes, and even their own rulesets.

Halo Infinite Forge maps progress not saving

However, some Halo Infinite players (1,2,3,4,5) have been reporting an issue where they are unable to save the progress made by creating maps in Forge mode.

Broooooo imagine getting kicked out of forge because “you lost connection to the game servers”. Hours of progress just vanished 😒

I should have known better. But I just lost 4 hours of progress bc the game randomly crashed while forging. I know I should have saved, but come on. It’s 2022, just autosave every 10 minutes for me. I love the new forge tools but now all of my motivation is gone to use it.

It seems that both auto-saving and manual quick-saving fail to register players’ progression.

To make matters worse, server errors and inactivity are also forcibly kicking players out of Forge mode resulting in losing progress.

Apparently, Forge mode only runs in the cloud thus restricting players’ access to the offline sessions. This is possibly why the game is losing its progress.

Potential workaround

We have come across a workaround that can potentially help fix the issue where Halo Infinite Forge maps progress is not auto-saving.

Unfortunately, there is no official acknowledgment of the issue from the developers yet. So, those affected can try the above-mentioned workaround.

Meanwhile, we will keep tabs on the latest developments and update this article if there is any noteworthy information.
