Matter of fact, users with other carries such as Bell, Telus, Chatr were also facing problems but not to the extent as those with Rogers connections.

Apparently, the outage was a direct result of a botched maintenance update which caused a system failure in the carrier’s core network, which caused some of our routers to malfunction early Friday morning.

While the message from Tony Staffieri mentions that the service has nearly been restored for most users, several individuals have taken to Twitter to report that the network is still down in areas such as Mississauga and Oshawa.

It’s unclear how much longer the outage will continue to affect users who for whom the network still hasn’t been restored. That said, we’ll keep track of the situation and will post an update if and when there are any further developments.
