A multi-player survival video game, Rust recently released the update to v1.54 announcing the Haunted Hunt Halloween event.
The update brings several exciting weapons, apparel, and items. It also aimed at introducing new gameplay features and fixing several crashes.
However, it seems that one of the crashing issues went unaddressed and is causing trouble for many.
Rust crashing on PC
Numerous reports have emerged on Twitter suggesting that Rust is constantly crashing or freezing for many PC players (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8).

The recent Halloween update seems to have broken the game and is entirely plagued by severe crashes.
Some players can’t stream the game on Discord now while others are frustrated as it’s basically unplayable. Those affected have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game but to no avail.
Fix not working
Although the team was quick to acknowledge the issue and even rolled out a fix, players still continue to face frequent crashes.
So, the client update that was aimed at resolving the crashing issues has allegedly worsened it. We hope that the team comes up with a more appropriate fix to do away with this problem for good.
We’ll keep tabs on further developments and update this article as and when something noteworthy comes up.
