Sky: Children of the Light is an open-world adventure game that was first released for iOS on July 18, 2019. Later on, Android and Nintendo Switch versions were launched.
The Season of Aurora is a new seasonal event that began on October 17 and will last until January 2, 2023. It comes after the Season of Shattering.
Shard Eruption was a new gameplay component introduced to Sky: Children of the Light players in the Season of Shattering.
Sky: Children of the Light crashing in Shard Eruption
According to many reports, Sky: Children of the Light players report that the game keeps crashing in Shard Eruption (1,2,3,4,5,6).
Every day, shards erupt from the horizon mountain, falling several times a day at one predetermined location mentioned in the daily quest.
The affected players say that they experience crashes when they try to clear the Shard Eruption in the Elevated Clearing of Hidden Forest.
This bug appears to have emerged with the latest 19.0 update to Sky: Children of the Light and mostly affects mobile (Android and iOS) devices.
Was trying to do rocket today, doesn’t seem to work now, it either crashes my game or the piggy icon for the other player doesn’t show up. Is the rocket working for anyone else? I’ve frequently used to do cr faster so it’s kind of a shame if they patched it.

Since halfway into Shattering, I have been having tremendous lag in my game, to the point that my framerate is nonexistent at times. After the new update everything just keeps crashing constantly, and I can’t even stay in the same server as other people because as soon as I get a merge, the game becomes nearly unplayable.

Troubleshooting methods like uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and logging in and out of your account don’t seem to fix this issue.
Issue acknowledged
Fortunately, Sky: Children of the Light support didn’t take too long to acknowledge this issue and have confirmed that the team is working to resolve it as soon as possible. However, no ETA was shared for a fix.
Unfortunately, we haven’t come across any potential workaround that can temporarily fix this issue. So, it seems those affected have to wait until devs address this bug.
We will update this story as events unfold.
