[Updated] Microsoft Outlook app crashing on iOS 15.5 after v4.2227.1 update, issue acknowledged

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on July 18, 2022) follows:

Ever since its release in 1997, Microsoft Outlook has become an integral part of various organizations. If you are unaware, the personal information manager is a part of the Microsoft Office Suite.

Initially designed as an email client, the developers have added several features like calendar management, task managing, note taking, journal logging, and even web browsing.

But in the last few days, several Microsoft Outlook users are reporting that the app is crashing on iOS 15.5 after updating to v4.2227.1. It is crashing right after users click on the icon with no error message (1,2,3,4,5).

Many are frustrated since the problem is preventing them from checking their email and negatively affecting their overall productivity.

Hello, I recently updated my Outlook App to the latest version. Since doing so, my Outlook App no longer opens. When I click on the app the logo simply goes full screen as if it is about to open and then it crashes. I have the latest Apple Software installed but never encountered this issue prior to the Outlook app update. I have an iPhone 12. I have updated all other microsoft apps. I have deleted and reinstalled the app. I have restored factory settings. I do not want to wipe my entire phone to fix this issue. Can anyone help??

I have multiple outlook accounts and one of them weren’t syncing, so I deleted my app and redownloaded it. Since then, my app won’t open; it’s stuck on the outlook logo for a couple seconds and quits. I have tried redownloading and reinstalling but it doesn’t seem to help. Anyone else having this issue / know why this may be happening? I have plenty of storage on my phone, if that matters. TIA
