Pokemon Go Hoopa Elite Raid rewards not spawning or spawning outside of bonus zone

Pokemon Go recently introduced a new variety of raid battles called the Elite Raids which are focused on in-person play.

These raids emerge from Elite Raid Eggs that hatch after 24 hours and players only get 30 minutes to complete them.

Hoopa Unbound is the first Elite Raid boss and whosoever defeats it, gets the chance to capture it.

Many Pokemon Go players (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) are reporting an issue where the Hoopa Elite Raid rewards keep spawning outside the bonus zone.

Hey all, I finished up my first Hoopa raid and rarer Pokémon like Articuno started spawning nearby as a 15 minute timer appeared. The thing is, all the spawns were too far from the gym we raided at to catch. Is that a common occurrence or did something mess up?

Ummmm @PokemonGoApp yall set the rare spawn radius larger than the elite raid bonus radius, so you can’t actually capture the legendary birds that spawn.

Players are supposed to capture a rare Pokemon in order to claim the Elite Raid rewards. These Pokemon appear only for a limited period of time after defeating Hoopa.

However, many are unable to capture them as they keep relocating outside the spawn bonus zone making it impossible for players to claim rewards.

Affected players have tried restarting the app but it only logs them out of the game.

Rare Pokemon not spawning

Apart from rare Pokemon spawning outside the bonus zone, some are also facing an issue where the spawns don’t appear at all.

Players have tried waiting some time for the rare spawns to appear after defeating Hoopa. However, neither the timer nor the elite spawns show up.

Did the elite raid at 11am and got no timer and no “special” spawns at all. What’s going on here @NianticHelp?

After winning the elite raid a 15 minute timer appeared and there were supposed to be rare spawns in the vicinity of the gym for that period. Only none spawned

Some Pokemon Go players have even completed the Hoopa Elite Raid multiple times, but none of the spawns or rewards ever appear.

Unfortunately, Niantic has not acknowledged either of the issues so players might have to wait indefinitely for the team to come up with a permanent fix.
