Overwatch 2 'Hold the line', 'The real heroes' & 'The best defense' weekly challenges resetting or stuck at 0

Overwatch 2 is a utopian free-to-play, team-based action game where every match is the ultimate battlefield brawl.

The first-person shooter game is available to play on PC as well as multiple consoles like PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch.

Despite all these features and accessibility, the game is not immune to various bugs and issues. For instance, the content from the Watchpoint Pack recently became inaccessible for many.

Overwatch 2 weekly challenges stuck at zero

Lately, many Overwatch 2 players (1,2,3,4,5,6) have been reporting an issue where the weekly challenges are repeatedly resetting or stuck at zero.

@PlayOverwatch please please please fix the bug where my weekly challenges don’t get counted for! it’s “the best defense” and “hold the line”. They have been at 0 all week and i’ve been doing them!!!

@PlayOverwatch @BlizzardCS Hold The Line weekly challenges is NOT progressing AT ALL … FIX IT OR GIVE US THE COINS 😑

Reports suggest that weekly missions like ‘Hold the line’, ‘The best defense’, and ‘The real heroes’ reset themselves at some point and refuse to log any progress.

According to some players that the challenges stop progressing as soon as someone enters the ‘While you wait’ Deathmatch mode.

This is incredibly frustrating as players are unable to complete their weekly missions and are now demanding compensation for the same.

Potential workaround

Fortunately, we have come across a workaround that can help fix the issue. Affected players can avoid playing the ‘While you wait’ Deathmatch mode temporarily in order to complete the ‘The best defense’ challenge.

Hold the Line still isn’t progressing for me either. The Best Defense worked when I stopped playing any while-you-wait games, but still nothing for Hold the Line

We hope that the team acknowledges the issue soon so that players can complete their weekly challenges without any trouble.

We will keep tabs on further developments and update this story once new relevant events arise.
