New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on October 5, 2022) follows:
Overwatch 2 is the latest installment of Blizzard’s popular ‘Hero-Shooter’. The game follows a continuous path with respect to its predecessor, adding more content and improving the gameplay.
It offers many heroes to choose from, each with their own abilities. Learning to use each character and their abilities is crucial to being victorious in matches.
Overwatch 1 players would not lose their progress and items earned, as the game allows them to be transferred from the original game to the sequel.
However, many Overwatch 2 players are finding that their progression and items are missing after merging PC and console accounts.
Overwatch 2 progression & items missing after merging PC & console accounts
According to multiple reports, the Overwatch 1 content is not transferring correctly to the sequel for many gamers.
The issue reportedly occurs when players combine their PC and console accounts through the Battle.net platform. Lost items include skins, weapons, in-game currency, and achievements, among others.
did anyone else lose all there progression?
So I played Overwatch since 2017 and was on the PlayStation. I linked my battlenet years ago. But I played on computer one weekend to try it out and I lost all my progression on the PlayStation is there a way to fix this?
Overwatch 2 skins not transferring
So overwatch 2 has just released today. And I logged in I’m a PlayStation player btw so my account is already linked to battle net. And to my suprise all my skins are gone even the overwatch league ones that I’ve spent money on.
‘Unexpected Server Error’ message and some accounts merging automatically
Some players are also unable to merge their PC and console accounts (or even access the game) due to an ‘Unexpected Server Error’ message.
Anyone aware of how long it’ll take for console players to gain access?
On xbox rn and it keeps booting me out for an ‘unexpected server error’. i get its gonna be busy but like why make me wait through 4000 players just to not even let me in lol
After 3 hours of queues finally down to 200 people ahead of me and then UNEXPECTED SERVER ERROR
yea great. After that server Error I had to log into my account again and it put me into a 30,000 people queue. Very funny OW
In some cases, account merging is happening automatically, causing players to automatically lose all their Overwatch 1 progress.
No chance to link account lost all my Xbox progress, game automatically linked to pc account. Is there any way to get this back or am I just fucked? Lost all my skins and a few years of stats and play time.
