Overwatch 2 beta crashing on Xbox

Unfortunately, recent reports from Overwatch 2 beta players suggest that the game is crashing on Xbox (1,2,3,4,5).

While some are not getting any error, others say their console turns off due to overheating or insufficient ventilation right when trying to get into a match.

Please tell me someone has a fix for this. On series x, every time I get I to a match my Xbox turns off due to “insufficient ventilation”. I’ve done everything to my Xbox to make sure the ventilation is fine anyways but I know that isn’t the problem because it only happens right when I load into a match. I’ve played rainbow six siege all day and no problems. I just want to play the beta bruhh

Xbox keeps crashing when I load into games
I’ve heard other people having the same issues but I’m trying to see if it’s my Xbox having actual ventilation issues or something is going on with the beta with maybe the influx of players logging on? Someone said tank queues are the only issue causing the crashing but I did dps, same thing

While Overwatch 2 developers are yet to comment on the matter, setting the preferred mode to Balanced seems to be helping with the crashing issue on Xbox.

I was having the same problem, I switched my “preferred mode” to Balanced and it has fixed it. I don’t know if that’s what solved it but its working for me now.

Overwatch 2 beta login or connection error on PS5

Adding to the trouble, several Overwatch 2 beta testers are getting connection or login error on the PS5 (1,2,3,4,5).

This is preventing many from launching the game, let alone play it. Users have tried restarting their console and reinstalling the game but nothing seems to help.

I wasn’t gonna write a whole post but I’m a bit annoyed. I bought the Watchpoint pack to get “guaranteed” access to the beta, and I’m still waiting. There are people who got codes by email and didn’t buy anything who are in now… how is that fair. I’ve been waiting on the ‘login error’ screen for hours to see if it will work. I am really disappointed with the beta in all honesty. Anyone else in the same boat?

I play on ps5. On the screen where it says “press (X) to play ” I proceed to press (X) but it just says: “Login error failed to connect to game server. Please try again later” I have bought the watchpoint pack and I was so excited to play as well.

Thankfully, we stumbled across a workaround that might help Overwatch 2 players fix the connection or login error issue.

It requires players to download the PS app on the phone, search for Overwatch 2 beta and download the PS4 version of the game.

If you are on Playstation. Go download the ps app on your phone. Log in. Go to the PS store inside the application. Search for “overwatch 2 beta”. Then you can choose which version you want to download. Ps4 or ps5. Download the ps4 version!!!! I immediately got in the game once download was finished and have enjoyed the beta the past half hour.

We hope the aforementioned workarounds helped you fix the crashing issue on Xbox and the connection error on PS5.

Rest assured, we will be keeping tabs on further developments on the matter and let you know once the bugs are fixed so stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.

Update 1 (June 29, 2022)

04:40 pm (IST): The support team on Twitter has acknowledged the Overwatch 2 login and connection error on PS5 and said that they are working on a fix. However, there’s no ETA for the same.

We’re aware that the PS5 service for OW2 Beta is experiencing issues, and we’re working to fix them as soon as possible. (Source)

Update 2 (October 5, 2022)

09:15 am (IST): Many Overwatch 2 players are reporting that they are facing login issues while trying to access the game.

This issue could be due to ongoing server issues. More on that here.

Update 3 (October 6, 2022)

11:32 am (IST): Blizzard support has confirmed that they have patched an Overwatch 2 server where players are facing login issues.

Moreover, they are working on another server update that will resolve the connection error with the game.

UPDATE: Today we’ve patched a server that is critical to the login experience, this change has increased login reliability. Beyond queues, we’re in progress with another server update that will reduce the occurrences of players being disconnected once they’re already in game.

We’re also adding nodes to ease the pressure of our player database being overloaded. Adding nodes requires replication of data, which inherently adds more pressure to an already stressed system, so we’re doing it slowly to not cause any further disruption. (Source)
