The Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are without a doubt the most controversial phones in the entire Pixel lineup. Despite featuring impressive hardware, both devices are plagued by numerous software issues.

While some of these issues do not hinder device functionalities, in November last year, users reported that the mobile network kept dropping and as a result, they were getting no service.

The infamous December update seemed to magnify the severity with many device owners complaining about network connectivity issues. As a result, Google had to pause the update rollout and advised users to roll back to a previous version.

Google promised that they would fix the connectivity issues in the January update. But that did not happen. And with the February update now available, Google seems to have fixed connectivity issues for some carrier networks.

Taking a look at the release notes, we can see that the Pixel 3, Pixel 4, and Pixel 5 did get some love. Unfortunately, the February update release did not mention anything about the Pixel 6 mobile network issues.

But the Google Play services update v22.06.02 which will be released on February 10 mentions some improvements that might potentially address the issue.

Google enthusiasts are now seemingly frustrated and wondering if Google will ever fix these issues. After all, the Pixel 6 mobile network drop issue should have never existed in the first place.

Below are some of the reports shared by Pixel 6 users who are saying that the mobile network issue persists even after the February update.

Pixel 6 Build SQ1D.220205.003 Australia Telstra. Been using Feb update for about 10 hours the update didn’t fix anything that I have noticed. The update took a little over 1hr to finish. Phone still loses network connection saying no connection and exclamation mark near antenna icon then has to be restarted to work again, Data drops back to H+ without warning and perfect reception. All of these issues I have had since October and have swapped 2 phones. Friend with a 6 pro has all the same issues I do on Optus.

Mine refuses to stay connected to wifi, mobile network has been spotty at best, voice to text is absolutely unusable, camera focus is terrible, constantly freezes, phone calls don’t want to connect, selfie camera is grainy, yellowish, and terrible…the list just goes on. I finally had to factory reset it this morning and it is still terrible.

Until then, we will be keeping an eye out on the matter and update this space as and when required so make sure you stay tuned for more information.
