Hulu offers its users a Cloud DVR service, where Live TV subscribers can record unlimited live news, sports, shows, movies, and events.

As long as your Live TV subscription is active, these recorded videos will remain on your Cloud DVR for up to 9 months.

Hulu DVR not recording certain shows

According to multiple reports, Hulu subscribers are experiencing an issue where Cloud DVR is not recording certain shows (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9).

Hulu users have Cloud recording enabled for certain shows, allowing them to view them later. However, those shows are not being recorded accordingly.

When they check ‘My Stuff’ section, the shows are set up for recording. However, they don’t appear in their list of recorded shows.

This isn’t the first time Hulu subscribers have encountered this problem. It has popped up on several occasions before (1,2,3,4).

Hey @hulu @hulu_support recording something failed today. It’s in my recordings but I can’t play it. This keeps happening intermittently and isn’t acceptable. Is there anything I can do to salvage the recording? This isn’t the first time.

@hulu_support why do I spend $70+ per month for a service that has the worst front-end app than any other out there. Shows that are marked to record, don’t. Can’t stop a show and restart where you left off. How long have you been in business? Get some good developers and fix it

This has been a particularly frustrating issue since many have missed several games or episodes of their favorite shows as a result of it.

Troubleshooting methods like setting up recording for a show again, logging in and out of the account, and restarting the devices do not appear to work either.

Hulu team has acknowledged the issue

Fortunately, the Hulu team is aware of the issue with DVR not recording and is working to resolve it. However, no official ETA for a fix has been provided.

At the moment there is also no workaround that helps to solve this problem. So, the only option for Hulu subscribers is to wait for an official patch.

That being said, we will keep an eye out for any new developments regarding the Cloud DVR issue and update this article if anything relevant comes to our attention.
