YouTube is currently the world’s largest video-sharing platform. With a monthly active user base of about a quarter of the human population, it looks like YouTube will continue dominating the niche for the next few years.

However, the sailing has not been smooth for YouTube lately. The platform received heavy backlash after its decision to remove the dislike count and even more after it updated its API breaking third-party extensions that allowed users to do so.

Adding fuel to the fire, issues such as the Watch Later button missing from notifications on Android and Analytics revenue getting delayed seem to be angering many.

Having said that, YouTube users are now reporting that they are seeing random videos getting added to their watch history and liked videos (1,2,3,4,5).

Some thought their account was compromised and hence tried changing their password, resetting 2FA, and removing all devices from the list of active devices but to no avail.

Here are some reports from YouTube users who are seeing random videos in their watch history and liked videos.

Random videos I don’t know showing up in my watch history. Basically as it says: I keep seeing random videos from channels I have never seen in my life. I already changed my password and logged out all other devices, but when I checked, the problem persisted. Youtube support is no help as usual. Is this a hacker? Should I be worried about account security?

The problem appeared 2 days ago and it’s still happening, I go to my Youtube Music to listen to my liked music and found out that there are a bunch of weird music on my list after unlike all of them, I go tho my Youtube and check the Liked Videos and found out that even in the Youtube the same thing happened. I have changed my password, and already turned on all the security steps but the weird videos keep adding to my list, is this some kind of hacking?
