New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on September 21, 2022) follows:
Hulu is an on-demand American subscription-based streaming service with a ad-supported base plan starting from $6.99 per month.
It offers exclusive shows and is available from numerous platforms via apps and web browsers, like many other similar services.
Hulu stuttering or freezing on Android
However, according to reports, many Hulu users have been complaining about frequent stuttering or freezing issues on the Android app (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9).
Due to this bug, users claim that once they begin video playback, stuttering or freezing usually starts to occur every few seconds. Additionally, it occurs on live, on-demand, and recorded TV shows as well.
However, many other streaming services (such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video) work flawlessly on the same devices. Therefore, it doesn’t appear like the issue is from their side.
Also, some Hulu subscribers have been forced to continually sync audio and video and can’t even watch an entire show without a lag.
The root cause of this problem appears to be the most recent Hulu v4.49.2 update for Android devices.
Any help would be appreciated I have cleared my cache and data.i also Uninstalled and reinstalled hulu but im still getting an audio and video disruption every 3 seconds. And only for hulu other streaming apps work fine

@hulu_support Told you your app broke the way this works. I mentioned this before to your reps. I updated my app and it is glitching and freezing and stuttering. And you expect me to pay 96 bucks for this?

Some tried troubleshooting steps like clearing cache, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and checking their data connections but nothing fixes the issue.
Potential workaround
The Hulu team has not acknowledged this issue yet. But there is a potential workaround that requires downgrading to v4.48.0 or to an older version as it seems to fix it for some users:
If the aforementioned workaround helped fix the stuttering or freezing issue, do let us know in the comments down below.
Until then, we will be keeping track of further developments on the matter and let you know as and when we come across more information.
Update 1 (Sept. 23, 2022)
11:11 am (IST): One of our readers has suggested that reverting back to v4.49.0 also fixes this issue. So, instead of reverting to v4.48, users can also install a slightly newer version.
Thanks for the tip: Paul Franco!
